Finalists of the 9th edition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes" to present their theses on 12 May

The final of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition, in which PhD students present their thesis during a maximum of four minutes, will take place on 12 May at 12 noon at the Doctoral School. The event will be streamed live on the UAB's YouTube channel.

On 12 May the PhD students selected by the jury will present their research in a plain language suitable for all audiences and in a maximum of four minutes.

The finalists presenting their PhD theses are Estel Blanch Ojea, Yaiza Cano González, Júlia Casado Carbajo, Sergio García Carbonell, Laura Cerrillo Gil, Pedro Garcia Gagliardi, Karina Borísova, Anabel Pérez Real, Maite Ergüin Gamazo and Mengya Xu.

The jury is made up of a representative of the Vice Rector’s Office for Research, a representative of the Vice Rector’s Office for Communication and Promotion, a representative of the Vice Rector’s Office for Language Policy, the Director of the Doctoral School and those coordinators of doctoral programmes who are members of the Doctoral School Standing Committee. The first prize is €800 and the financing of the winner's trip to Vic (up to €100), and the second prize is €500. There are also the audience's prize, which consists of €200, and the special Assumpció Català i Poch prize for the promotion and encouragement of the Catalan language, worth €300 (these last two prizes are compatible and cumulative with the jury's prizes).
