Academic Recognition
The UAB offers the possibility of obtaining academic credits recognised in Bachelor’s degree programmes by undertaking activities not included in the curriculum.
These credits are added to the transcript as optional credits with a pass and are not counted towards the average grade on the academic record.
The maximum number that can be recognised is 24 credits from among the three types of activities (Languages, RAC Activities, and Other Educational Activities).
Types of activities
RAC Activities (academic credit recognition)
Cultural, sporting, student representation, solidarity and cooperation activities at the university.
A minimum of six credits must be recognised at the same time (this applies to students who started their degree in the 2022/2023 academic year).

Academic recognition can be granted for activities aimed at improving knowledge, mastery and use of languages, with a maximum of 12 credits.
Please check the equivalences of certificates and diplomas accrediting knowledge of a third language in the chart published by the Board of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia (CIC) (currently under review by the CIC and subject to change), according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Recognition for Exchange Placements
A student that has completed an exchange placement and taken 30 credits at the host university, may request credit recognition for taking subjects in a foreign language.
For every 6 credits passed, 1.5 credits are recognised.

Other educational activities organised by the university. Each activity may be recognised by the number of credits stated on the certificate.
