Pass by Compensation
This is the awarding of a pass mark for a subject that has not been passed in the usual way, granted under specific conditions.
Requirements
- May only be granted once during the entire programme.
- The work experience and the degree final project are not included.
- The student must be registered for the subject in the academic year in which they submit the application.
- The student must have used up the three registrations allowed to pass a subject, except if it is the last one needed to finish the programme, in which case it is not necessary to have used them up.
- The student must have obtained a grade of 3.5 or higher in at least one assessment.
- If it is an optional subject, passing this subject must essentially complete the degree.
- Subjects passed by pass by compensation will be recorded as such and, for calculation purposes, will count as a 5.
- The grade in the most recent grade sheet will be replaced by the pass by compensation.
Application
Applications may be submitted from the official closing date for grade sheets and within a maximum period of 15 calendar days. Please see the academic schedule for the corresponding dates.
