Before your arrival
Language knowledge
Incoming exchange students must provide:
- Certified B1 level of Spanish or Catalan mandatory to attend courses held in these languages.
- Certified B1 level of English, not older than 2 years, mandatory to attend courses held in English, if applicable.
For mother languages you must provided your passport.
For questions regarding language requirements or accepted certifications refer to the Exchange Office.
Important: even in the case of enrolling only in courses taught in English, a knowledge of the Spanish language corresponding to B1 level is strongly recommended.
To improve your language level, the Servei de Llengües of UAB offers free Catalan courses and subsidised Spanish courses. Information and registration details on the Servei de Llengües website
The number of vacancies per course is limited. Please, note that the annual courses can only be taken by annual exchange students.
In the following documents you will find the courses offered by the Faculty by semester:
- Courses offered at the Autumn Semester:
- Courses offered at the Spring Semester:
- Courses taught in Catalan are not usually in great demand. If you are interested in taking a course in this language, please contact us at this e-mail address Intercanvis.comunicacio@uab.cat
You can find the syllabus of the courses on the website of each bachelor's degree.
Important: Given that you will most likely have to complete your learning agreement with subjects taught in Spanish, due to the limited number of vacancies and courses offered in English, we recommend at least a B1 of Spanish.
If you want to take courses from other faculties, you will have to consult their websites to see the offer and timetables.
Remember that you must enrol at least the 50% of the total credits in the Faculty of Communication Studies. The other 50% can be taken in the other faculties of UAB, as long as there are vacancies.
Step 1: Registration at UAB
After being nominated, you will receive an email with the instructions to submit our online exchange application at sia.uab.es (Mobility and Exchange\ INcoming students - Signing up and application form).
