Campanya pel 0,7
The FAS launches the 0.7% campaign, which encourages students to tick this box in their enrolment for next year and make the contribution of 15 Euros, which will be assigned to the UAB Solidarity Fund. The Fund finances development cooperation projects and development through education projects.

17/06/2015

Ticking the solidarity box when making the enrolment for next year means making a contribution of 15 Euros that will be assigned to development cooperation projects in countries of the South or to actions for development through education at the UAB campus. The UAB Solidarity Fund manages these donations and distributes the resources to projects promoted by teachers and students for university development cooperation.

The resolution of the projects that will be financed by the funds of the last call and that will be developed during 2015 has been published in June. Within the framework of the proposals for international cooperation, the resolution includes projects with university centres of Philippines, Uganda, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. Cooperation with countries of the South includes projects that affect the areas of education, gender, health, environment, democratic government, agriculture and food. These initiatives promoted by UAB students or teachers will be carried out with the counterparts of these countries, such as university centres or research institutes, usually with a previous relation with the UAB.

In the line of development through education (EpD), four initiatives have been approved regarding the following topics: access to sustainable energy, preservation of biodiversity, development through communication and fight of indigenous peoples.

The 0.7% campaign started at the UAB in 1994. This movement promotes cooperation and solidarity with the countries of the South and so the UAB Senate decided to join this initiative and assign a part of the budget to actions for development cooperation. Additionally, the Fund receives contributions by PAS and PDI.

The UAB Solidarity Foundation (FAS) manages the Solidarity Fund through the Area for Cooperation and EpD. Every year there are two calls for which teaching and research staff and postgraduate students can apply to receive funds for their projects, and so some of the initiatives will be selected to be funded with the contributions to the Fund.

If you are a student at the UAB, we encourage you to contribute with the 0.7%of the price of your enrolment for this year. Tick the solidarity box and donate 15 Euros to the UAB Solidarity Fund!
