Technological director of Digital Legends to speak on multiplatform video games

The video games sector must bear closely in mind the different devices users use every day. Unai Landa, Director in Technology at Digital Legends, will speak on the development of multiplatform video games in a conference scheduled for 23 January at 4 pm at the School of Engineering.

On 23 January at 4pm the School of Engineering will play host to a conference entitled "Introduction to Multiplatform Developments", offered by Unai Landa, Director in Technology at Digital Legends. The conference is organised as part of the UAB master's degree in Video Game Design.

Landa will explain the reasons behind creating these types of video games (i.e., games which can be played on different devices: computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.) and the techniques used in this specific sector. He will talk not only about source code but also about user interface, data and design to meet the needs of different platforms.

Unai Landa began his professional career as a technology and graphics developer at the end of the 1990s and he has worked for Saga Commandos, PyroStudios and Trilobite Graphics. He later joined Digital Legends and specialised in games for mobile phones, a field in which he works on technology development and on projects. He gives lectures in the Master in Video Game Development at the Complutense University of Madrid and at the U-TAD (Centro Universitario de Tecnología y Arte Digital).

Digital Legends is a Barcelona-based company which specialises in video games for mobile platforms. It has created games such as One, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, Kroll and Respawnables. It is a leading company in its sector, works with Nokia and has received several awards such as the 2008 and 2010 IMGA Audience Awards, the 2007 IMGA Best 3D Award and the MeriStation magazine's Best Game Award for its N-Gage E3.
