The Fundació Autònoma Solidària proposes new formative activities for this semester related to the topics of the FAS programmes. Since 26 January you can already register for the "Sexuality and affectivity. A comprehensive look" course, which will take place in March, and also in the activity "Disability or diverse skills?", which will take place in April. In April also the "Food sovereignty awareness Days" will take place. These 3 activities are recognized with ECTS credits or free-choice credits.

In the  "Sexuality and affectivity. A comprehensive look" course, different topics connecting affectivity and healthy sex will be discussed. The course has the objective of encouraging participants to promote assertive sexuality and question relationships from a gender perspective in which sexual and reproductive rights are very important. There will be also a formative part about problems related to sex: sexual dysfunction, unplanned pregnancies, etc. Finally there will be also a reflection about gender violence, homosexuality and transsexualism, and so sexuality will be seen as the central part of personal identity. People participating in past editions of this course declared that they discovered that the idea of sexuality is a "much broader concept" that they had imagined and outlined the knowledge acquired and "the moments of internal reflection".

The course will take place at the UAB campus from 3 to 24 March, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. In order to have the credits recognized, the assistance to all the sessions and the participation in a “Xiringu” of the FAS Health Volunteer groupwill be mandatory. In case of being a degree student, it will be also necessary to submit an essay at the end of the activity.

The "Food sovereignty awareness Days" aims to make people know the many initiatives there are in an alternative model that aims to be a fair and sustainable answer facing the current situation of global poverty and hunger. According to Estel Peix, technician of Cooperation and Education for Development, "it is essential to promote the debate and critical thinking about the current system of production, commerce and consumption of food". The assessment of the impact of these practices, both in the local and international level, is basic for the creation of more sustainable transformative alternatives. In these food sovereignty awareness Days, different talks will take place, as well as workshops and roundtables, that will propose more sustainable alternative initiatives, such as community vegetable gardens, cooperatives or the agro-ecological local promotion projects, among others.

The sessions will take place in Barcelona from 15 to 17 April 2015, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16, from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, and Friday 17, from 9:30 am to 2 pm. In order to have the credits recognized, the assistance to 15 hours minimum and the submission of an essay once the activity is over will be mandatory.

From 9 to 30 April(Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm), the activity "Disability or diverse skills?" will take place at the UAB campus, organized by PIUNE, the Programme for the integration of university students with special needs. The objective of these sessions is to show students the reality of people with disabilities to break the stereotypes of the society and promote an inclusive university through knowledge and equality. The sessions will provide students with tools to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. In order to have the credits recognized, the assistance to all the sessions, the submission of an essay and the participation in a PIUNE activity will be mandatory. Students who have participated in past editions outlined this course as a door that allowed them to "become aware of the disabilities and the need to take care of them in a social and educative way, more than in a medical way".

Both the courses and the days cost 40 Euros. The "Sexuality and affectivity" course and the "Food sovereignty awareness Days" are recognized with 2 ECTS credits or 2 free-choice credits. But the activity "Disability or diverse skills?" will be recognized only with 2 ECTS credits (and no free-choice credits). You can register in the following links:
