Pau Amblas, in his second year of Medicine at the UAB, won the competition to find the best theme song for the first science podcast the UAB launches as a scientific dissemination project.

Pau Amblas

Pau Amblas does not have extensive theoretical or professional musical training, but he plays the trombone and electric bass, often composes his own melodies and is part of a music group recently formed by students of the bachelor's degrees in medicine, history, law and physics.

As the author of the winning tune, he will enjoy the use of the AudioLab facilities (Faculty of Arts & Humanities) to make the recording that will be used in the edition of the podcasts in the framework of the science dissemination project. He will also be able to take part in training workshops on audiovisual creation offered by the Convent de Sant Agustí Civic Centre in Barcelona.

This project, which will be inaugurated in September in a train carriage of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, aims to bring science closer to the non-specialist public, as well as to explain and disseminate scientific knowledge, culture and thought. For this reason, the competition for theme songs for the podcast was open to all members of the university community.
