The Autonomous Solidarity Foundation (FAS) organizes training sessions so that UAB students can complete their curricular knowledge acquired in their bachelor’s degree with knowledge about social issues. This second Term of the academic year 2015-16, the FAS offers new editions of the workshops about drugs and disability.

From 25 February to 17 March, professionals and experts on psychology, anthropology and drugs will give the lectures that make the drugs workshop “Reflections, views and effects of substances”. It will be taught in the Faculty of Education on Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. This workshop will allow students to think critically about the concept of “health” and about the causes and effects of the consumption of substances from a scientific, psychological, social, economic and juridical point of view.

From 5 to 26 April on Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm will take place the sessions of the workshop “Disability or diverse abilities?”, which intents to familiarize students with the reality of people with diverse abilities and break stereotypes through knowledge and the promotion of the concept of “equality of opportunities”. The sessions also want to offer practical resources to participants and promote debate about the inclusion process of people with functional diversity.

In both cases is necessary to attend 100% of the sessions and complete a practical activity. Registration for both courses will open on 25 January. For further information, check out this link.
