Festa Major UAB 2014: the programming is published

After months of preparation and coordination of proposals from the entire community, the programming of Festa Major 2014 is coming out today.

Throughout the day there will be activities planned for everyone at the Plaça Cívica and Plaça del Coneixement.

The proclamation at 12 pm at the Plaça Cívica will start the party. This year it will be held by Plataforma Tanquem els CIE, composed of people and organizations who defend the closing of immigration detention centres and report the violation of rights.
Right after, the Plaça Cívica will be filled with participative, demanding, artistic and leisure activities. UAB student societies, services and projects will be found at the Associations Fair and there will be activities such as “Què FAS de festa?” about alcohol’s effects in road safety and in sexual relations; Comparteix aforismes, practica llengües; o URBANFITSAF to get fit. At the same time, there will be performances of the UABcolla de Bastoners, the Choir of the UAB and a little taste of country, among others. At 1 pm there will be a premiere of Cinemes Verdi and the SAF will organise an open day. In addition, the Tandem and Debate League programmes will encourage students to take a selfie.

One of the main activities of the FM14 will be the performance of the colla castellera Ganàpiesand the Arreplegats de la Zona Universitària (human towers) to celebrate the 20 years of the UAB colla castellera . In the afternoon the music will be the most important activity with the performances of Disco-sopa with the DJ The Cucumber, Batukada Festukada and finally, DJ Wersech.

Quark Poesia, the recital of Vinyoli amb pa amb oli, a workshop of magazines for students, live role play with the UAB Club de Rol and an Asian karaoke among others will perform in the performing space of Resource Centre for Student Societies.

The other great performing space of the FM14 is the Plaça del Coneixement, where there will be stands of students, a “Xiringu”to solve doubts about sexuality and drugs and a stand of Energy Control to make sure the party is under control. At 2 pm the performances of the winners of Autònoma Actua will begin.

Besides, FM14 embraces actions such as the campaign of the Observatory for Equality that invites everybody to enjoy a Festa Major free of sexism.
