Imatge Noticia Autònoma Actua

Are you in a band, a DJ or willing to perform on the stage at UAB Festa Major? If the answer is yes, apply to join the Autònoma Actua contest and you will have the chance to be truly part of the festival!

What is the Autònoma Actua UABFM about?

Autònoma Actua is a solid, long-standing initiative hosting different artistic proposals by members of the UAB community, including administration and services staff, and teaching and research staff.

In particular, this contest will give contestants the chance to perform at UAB Festa Major 2016, on Thursday 10 November from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and win €100, €200 or €300 in prize money, depending on the number of band members.

From among the proposals submitted, a panel of judges will choose the best ones in relation to their artistic level, variety, technical viability and environmental suitability. New proposals will be appreciated, though bands that have participated in previous editions may still compete as well.

Success is guaranteed. In fact, last year 45 bands submitted their proposals, 13 of whom were chosen to perform on three different stages from the start to the finish of the event. Check out the pictures of last edition at Cultura en Viu’s Flickr account.

In addition to the UABFM invitation, during the second semester proposals will be invited for performing within the UAB permanent cultural programme (UAB Theatre, UAB Cinema and special occasions such as the Dia de la Dansa).

What are the requirements?

The main requirement to participate in the contest is that in both solo and band proposals, at least one of the band members must be part of the UAB community.

Musical proposals must be around 45 minutes long; dance and theatrical performances, magic shows and so on must be around 20 minutes long.

And last but not least, being available! The organisation will set the order of the performances and it is important to point out that UABFM will last from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., including the sound check.

For more information on the requirements, please read carefully the contest rules.

Where and how to enter the contest
