The Master's Degree in Environmental Communication is characterized by offering a set of theoretical and practical content aimed at communication professionals and other people interested in achieving the techniques and knowledge necessary to understand, analyze, contextualize, explain and disseminate different phenomena. related to the environment. The registration includes a complete trip that each year will have a different theme and destination from four major "scenarios": jungles, deserts, polar territories or large cities. Students will travel accompanied by a teaching team and will carry out on-the-ground tasks of an environmental communication project together with workshops and seminars.
The master's degree deals with the production of content of different types (textual, visual, audiovisual and multimedia) on the environment for the press, radio, television and the Internet. In the same way, it responds to the current need to address the thematic agenda of the environment with solvent communication tools that allow the analysis and understanding of different phenomena and problems related to our planet. It seeks to promote environmental literacy for all citizens. Likewise, it is aimed at professionals who want to undertake their own initiatives (websites, information portals, NGOs, audiovisual, radio or press projects, multimedia content, online platforms, etc.) in the field of communication on environmental issues. . The master's degree presents, on the one hand, a specialized approach from the point of view of journalistic and communicative production and, on the other, provides a multidisciplinary perspective from different areas of interest in the social sciences, biosciences and environmental sciences.

UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace.

These internships may be curricular (compulsory) or non-curricular (optional).

  • Curricular
Curricular practices are those which are included in the curriculum of the studies and, therefore, must be overcome to obtain the degree. The programme manager will explain you the details of how, where and under what conditions you should do the internship.
  • Non-curricular
As a UAB student, you have access to the University occupation portal, the Occupability Service, through which you can participate in selection processes for non-curricular practices as well as getting a contract. In both cases, you need to sign up to the Nexus application.
