Heritage Week at the UAB
Description:
The UAB organises this week as a way of giving visibility to the richness and diversity of its university's artistic, natural, scientific, documentary, bibliographic and intangible heritage. Through a series of activities, the community will be able to discover this legacy from a diversity of perspectives and disciplines.
The activities, open to the entire community, have been designed and led by students from the bachelor's degrees in Art History and in Humanities. By fostering the bond between students, faculty and staff of the UAB, they promote a critical, open and interdisciplinary perspective on the university's heritage and its social, cultural and educational value.

Book Exchange Market
Description:
The Environmental Volunteering group of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària is organising a book market as part of the Sant Jordi celebrations. In advance, the volunteering group is calling on the university community to collaborate by donating books at the FAS office in Plaça Cívica.
You can bring the books you have read from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. In exchange, you will receive a voucher to choose any other book for free on the day of the market. If you have not donated any books, you can still choose one on the day of the market for the symbolic price of one euro.
This market encourages the recycling and reuse of books, while promoting the dissemination of knowledge and cultural exchange within the university community.

Of diasporas and the construction of citizenship: Islam in question
Description:
The Research in Sociology of Religion (ISOR) group at the UAB organises a new ISOR seminar entitled "De diàspores i construcció de ciutadania: l’islam en qüestió". The event will take place on 21 April at 3:30 p.m. at the UAB Faculty of Political Science and Sociology.
The session will address the relationships between diasporas, identity and the construction of citizenship, with a sociological, critical and rigorous look at the role of Islam in contemporary contexts. The study of the dispersion of the religious and cultural group is observed from a scientific perspective in Catalonia, with a broad sense in the field. The conference will be given by Ana Planet, lecturer in sociology at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Screening of the film "Pelle the Conqueror" by Billie August (1987)
Description:
Pelle the Conqueror (original title: Pelle Erobreren) is a Danish film set in the social drama of the end of the 19th century. The film tells the story of two Swedish immigrants in Denmark, father and son, who face the hardships of rural work and social injustices. A key work of European cinema marked by realism, sensitivity and human dignity.

Beloved machines: robotics and Catalan science-fiction
Description:
As part of the Òrbita Lectora online book club, the Humanities Library organises an event entitled "Estimades màquines: robòtica i ciència-ficció catalana", which will take place on 22 April at the Periodical Room . The event will be held from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. and will include specialists from different areas who will speak on key question related to artificial intelligence, robotics and their representation in Catalan literature. The programme will begin with a speech by mathematician and writer Carme Torras, who will talk about future scenarios that are worth reflecting on and taking action.
