Book presentation of the International Radio Congress
Description:
On Thursday 18 December at 12 noon, the Col·legi de Periodistes will host the presentation of the book collecting the main contributions of the International Radio Congress held in Barcelona in November 2024.
As part of the centenary of radio in Spain and coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Ràdio Barcelona (EAJ-1) station, the International Radio Congress, organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Cadena SER, was held at the CaixaForum in Barcelona on 15 and 16 November 2024. Under the title of “Present and Future of Audio”, the congress brought together more than 100 professionals and academics from media, technology, advertising and management, among others, to debate the evolution of the medium and new audio ecosystems.
One year later, the UAB Publications Service has published the book that collects the conferences, round tables, conclusions and institutional texts of the international Radio Congress. The book, coordinated by Maria Corominas, Fernando Guerrero, Enric Marín, Maria José Recoder and Jaume Serra, consists of a digital version and a paper version. It is published in Catalan, Spanish and English, the three official languages used at the congress. Each edition includes photographs of the participants, summaries of the sessions, and the full conference by journalist Iñaki Gabilondo. The publication also incorporates QR codes that link to the videos of the debate tables, the conferences, the presentations and institutional closings, as well as to the reading of its manifesto.
The book presentation will include speeches by:
- Esther Zapater, secretary general of the UAB.
- Joan Maria Morros, dean of the Col·legi de Periodistes.
- Juan José Perona, dean of the Faculty of Communication Studies of the UAB.
- Jaume Serra, director general of Radio and Audiovisual Business at PRISA Media and director of the congress on behalf of PRISA.
- Enric Marín, director of the congress on behalf of the UAB and lecturer in the Department of Media, Communication and Culture of the UAB.
The book presentation will take place on Thursday 18 December at 12 noon at the Conference Hall of the Col·legi de Periodistes, Barcelona (Rambla de Catalunya 10). Seating is limited, all those interested in attending can register here.
