Journalism in the face of genocide
Description:
Given the current international scenario, the Faculty of Communication Studies has organised a conference entitled “El periodisme davant el genocidi”, which will be held of 22 October and aims to be a space in which to reflect on and analyse the role of peace journalism.
The event will include the participation of the winners of the First Peace Journalism of Catalonia Awards and of members of the Peace Journalism Group of the Association of Journalists of Catalonia.
Participating in the conference will be Sònia Calvó and Oriol Andrés (La Directa), Roser Oliver Olivella (3Cat) and Olga Rodríguez (Ràdio 4). The event will be presented by Josep Lluís Gómez Mompart from the Peace Journalism Group.
The conclusions will be presented by Xavier Giró, former lecturer at the Faculty of Communication Studies and author of the book Contra la neutralitat. Un periodisme de pau i de lluita.

Information session on research period recognition
Description:
The session will cover issues such as administrative situations, record of employment, publication of contributions to the UAB Digital Document Repository (DDD), open access and open research data, bibliometric narrative, how to reference documents in EGRETA and the CVN, etc. There will also be an open question and answer session.

Inauguration of the academic year at the Faculty of Education
Description:
The Faculty of Education will welcome the 2025/26 academic year with an event chaired by the rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente, and the dean of the faculty, Marta Bertran Tarrés.
The event will feature the inaugural lecture “Educating City, an ideal of urban ethics”, given by Marina Canals Ramoneda, secretary general of the International Association of Educating Cities (AICE), Joan Manuel del Pozo, lecturer at the University of Girona, and Albert Soler Fuentes, commissioner of the Educating City in Granollers.

Formative session to know all the resources available to the entities and how they can access them, as well as to present the entities enrolled in the Directorate so that the new groups and new boards are aware of the diversity of the associative tissue of the UAB and to encourage networking between them.
This formation is primarily aimed at new boards or new groups enrolled in the Directorate, although, like all other sessions, members of all groups enrolled in the Directorate can participate.

Nanomedicine: present and future challenges
Description:
The Seminaris a l’Abast series is a dynamic and participatory training space where current and interesting topics are discussed. The series includes 8 2-hour sessions, independent of each other, with a total duration of 16 hours. Registration can be made for the entire series or for individual sessions, online or face-to-face.
The programme begins on 22 October with the session “Nanomedicine: present and future challenges”. The activity will focus on current advances and challenges in the field of nanomedicine and will feature the participation of Julia Lorenzo, lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the UAB and principal investigator in the Protein Engineering and Nanomedicine group at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB-UAB).
The session will provide an overview of current advances in nanomedicine, exploring the main applications in disease diagnosis and treatment. Special emphasis will be placed on targeted nanotherapy, controlled drug release, and molecular diagnostic platforms.
