On 16 September, the Center for Studies and Research in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CREIS-UAB) will be holding the VI CREIS-UAB Workshop 2025, which will take place from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Sala de Graus of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. The workshop will feature the opening ceremony by Rosa Maria Sebastián, vice-rector for Innovation, Strategic Projects and Entrepreneurship at the UAB, alongside David Bonvehí, General Director of Social and Solidarity Economy and Cooperativism of the Government of Catalonia; and David Urbano, Director of CREIS. This will be followed by the keynote lecture, delivered by Herman Aguinis, professor at The George Washington University, entitled "Leadership and talent in the context of entrepreneurship and social innovation".

The event will continue with two presentations. One by Mireia Roca and Valentina González from the Training and Research Unit-School of Social Work at the University of Barcelona, who will talk about a chapter in the Yearbook of Entrepreneurship, Economics and Social Innovation, entitled "From individualised work to social recognition: an approach to long-term care in times of crisis". And another presentation by Marcela Santiago, graduate of the UAB's master's degree in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, who will talk about the project "Social Entrepreneurship - SOPACK BCN: Your daily dinner," a pilot project for Ciutat Vella, Barcelona. 

The workshop will end with a debate entitled "Tetaining and Attracting Talent in the Public Administration Sector in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation". Finally, Àlex Rialp, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, will close the event.

The UAB's DIM-EDU educational network, the CIC Foundation, the Catalan Pedagogy Society, and the ESPIRAL Association organise on 17 September the 15th meeting of innovative centres in Catalonia. The meeting will serve to discuss how to improve the efficacy of training and comprehensive development of students in the era of internet and smart machines. Here one can consult the meeting's programme, in which 100 speakers will participate, presentations will be made on educational resources, and on-site and online workshops will be offered. On-site and online workshops and seminars will be offered. The meeting will take place at the conference hall (Sala d’actes) of the CIC Cultural Institution in Barcelona. The event will take place on 17 September at 12 noon at the conference hall of the Rectorat building. In addition to Rector Lafuente, speeches will be given by Esther Zapater, secretary general of the UAB; Rosa Maria Peleato and  Arantza Igartua, former directors of the UAB Healthcare Service; and Anselmo López, specialist in pneumology and coordinator of the Service's Primary Healthcare Unit.

The UAB Centre for Demographic Studies has coordinated a volume of the Idees journal dedicated to demography. It will be presented publicly on 17 September at 6:30 p.m. at the Casa Convalescència of the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site in Barcelona. The event will include speeches by Andreu Domingo, coordinator of the journal, deputy director of CED-UAB and principal investigator of the research group Globalisation, Migrations and Space; and by demographer Dolores Puga, researcher in the Group on Ageing of the Spanish Higher Research Council (CSIC).

The Quantum Communication and Secure Information (Q-CSI) research group of the UAB Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering is organising the Satellite Network of Experts V Seasonal School. This European Space Agency project forms part of the Technology Development Programme, which is co-organised with the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC). The EURASIP Satellite Network of Experts School is designed for early career researchers and industry professionals, including PhD students and post-doc researchers, interested in exploring the latest advances in satellite and space communications. The school will be held on 22 and 23 September 2025, at the UAB Casa Convalescència. It is offered as part of the AIAA's International Communications Satellite Systems Conference (ICSSC 2025), which will be held from 23 to 25 September. The school will be inaugurated by Holly Ridings, former NASA chief flight director and current director of the Exploration Operations Office.
