The Quantum Communication and Secure Information (Q-CSI) research group of the UAB Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering is organising the Satellite Network of Experts V Seasonal School. This European Space Agency project forms part of the Technology Development Programme, which is co-organised with the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC). The EURASIP Satellite Network of Experts School is designed for early career researchers and industry professionals, including PhD students and post-doc researchers, interested in exploring the latest advances in satellite and space communications. The school will be held on 22 and 23 September 2025, at the UAB Casa Convalescència. It is offered as part of the AIAA's International Communications Satellite Systems Conference (ICSSC 2025), which will be held from 23 to 25 September. The school will be inaugurated by Holly Ridings, former NASA chief flight director and current director of the Exploration Operations Office.

Àurea Rodríguez and Raúl Reyes will be giving the inaugural lectures of the 2025/26 academic year of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The institutional event markiong the start of the year will take place on 23 September at 12 noon, at the conference hall (Sala d'actes). Rodríguez, an expert in innovation with more than twenty years of experience in organisations related to the field of veterinary medicine, will give a talk entitled "Better Dead than Without AI"; and Reyes, a veterinarian and co-founder of Insectius, will give a presentation entitled "If you don't make mistakes, you are not doing anything new". The event will also include the presentation of the extraordinary degree award to this year's winners. The rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente, and the dean of the Faculty, Manel López, will also speak at the event.

The Àlex Seglers Memorial Awards honours the work of people and/or organisations committed to defending diversity and fostering co-existence. The awards ceremony will take place on 25 September at 6:00 p.m. at the Teatre Principal in Sabadell. This initiative is organised by the Sabadell City Council, the UAB, the Government of Catalonia, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Catalan Federation of Municipalities, the Catalan Association of Municipalities, and the Fundació Bosch i Cardellach.

Between 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. on 30 September, the Bellaterra campus will host its autumn edition of La Comunitària. This cultural day aims to bring together the university community in a series of leisure and cultural activities organised by the associations registered with elDirectori, the UAB's registry of associations, the student councils and the different community services.

The activity will take place in the Plaça del Coneixement. You can also find activities in other areas of the campus such as the Humanities Library and the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.

Poet Mario Obrero, presenter of the TVE's literary programme Un país para leerlo, will offer the inaugural conference of the 2025/26 academic year at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting. The conference, entitled "Plaer placer: goig i col·lectivitat de les llengües" will take place on 1 October at 1:00 p.m. at the Aula 4. Obrero will also be speaking with Carles Biosca, Antía Tàboas and Mar Ufano in a debate that will be moderated by Marc Miranda. The event will also include institutional speeches by UAB Rector Javier Lafuente and Dean Simona Škrabec.
