The School of Prevention, Safety and Security of the UAB is organising an intensive course in English on Disaster Risk Management (DRM). The course will be held during February 11-15, 2019.

International lecturers and researchers, most of them members of the Conris Network and the DRMKC, will give special sessions about risk assessment, communicating disaster risk, climate change, risk and gender or emergency planning, among other topics.

These contents are included in a report published in 2017 by the Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC), a European Commission’s research centre, following Sendai’s framework: risk reducing disaster risks and losses, and shifting the emphasis from managing disasters to managing the underlying risk. The aim is to have a more resilient society.

The training is for both undergraduate and graduate students interested in the topic. For further information, please go to the programme’s web page.
