Places for electric vehicles
The UAB offers to Campus Community the electric vehicle charging service. An initiative that is part of Specific Strategy Line 3, related to the rationalisation of the use of private motor vehicles, of Mobility Plan UAB 2018-24.
This electric vehicle charging service is aimed at the UAB Campus Community (Students, PDI, PAS, Sphere and others) who has UIN (University Identification Number).
Currently, this service is in process of bidding for new charging points to expand the existing network.
1. Belongin to UAB Campus Community (student, PAS, PDI, Sphere and others) and have INU (Identification Number of University).
2. Making payment of 10€, as deposit. This diposit is refunded if the user cancels the membership and return the card in good conditions and valid for use.
And that is not counting maintenance costs (25% cheaper), parking (free in the blue zones), tax benefits, etc. And most importantly, the CO2 saving for the environment which, for a 1.6 petrol engine would be 25kg for 100km.
There you can charge your electric vehicle for a period of between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the model. Since this is a dual charging station installation costs are lower and the aesthetic impact is reduced.
If the electricity supply is cut the recharging point has a battery which will guarantee cable retention.
These points are products of the CITY DUO line, designed to respect the IEC 61851 international standard, and offers the possibility of charging vehicles according to modes 1, 2 and 3 of the standard. It also allows a semi-fast charge of two vehicles at the same time.
These are smart charging points and so they can be controlled remotely. They also give consumption statistics.

It is assumed that the end of the session means the withdrawal of the car on the understanding that the cable can be unlocked. Each non-compliance will mean a penalty consisting of not being able to use the chargers for one week. This penalty will be previously communicated to the user by e-mail. It will not considered as non-compliance when, due to technical incidents, it has not been possible to make the charge in a normal way. This regulation is applicable from 2th of November 2022.
