Master description

The master's degree in Translational Biomedical Research consists of 60 ECTS credits and lasts one academic year. In the first semester, you will enroll in most of the theoretical modules (30 credits) and in the second semester you will take three credits corresponding to a theoretical module, carry out your Work Placement (15 credits) and your Master Thesis (12 credits). The master's degree does not include specialisations.

The programme is structured into ten teaching modules, four compulsory and six optional. At the beginning of the academic year, you will take two compulsory theoretical modules: 1) Transferable Skills for Research into Human Pathology (9 credits) and 2) Approaches to Research in Healthcare Environments (6 credits) . Once you complete these modules, you will take 18 optional credits, to be chosen from modules related to the study of current challenges in research in the main blocks of human pathologies: 3) Brain and Peripheral Nervous System Disorders (6 credits); 4) Cardiovascular and Kidney Diseases (9 credits) ; 5) Oncological Diseases (6 credits); 6 ) Liver and Digestive Diseases (6 ECTS); 7) Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Critical Pathology (6 ECTS); and 8) Respiratory, Immune System and Systematic and Endocrine Diseases (6 ECTS). Once you have completed the theoretical modules, you will go on to 9) Work Placement (15 credits) and 10) Master Thesis (12 credits).
