Ideal student profileThis master’s degree is aimed fundamentally at pre-EHEA graduates and graduates in Psychology, and graduates and holders of diplomas in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, but also at other university graduates interested in the study of the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (teachers, educators, doctors, physiotherapists or equivalents), given that this is a field of work with a strong interdisciplinary tradition which is based on the results of research in different disciplines.
Knowledge of English at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the European Council is required.
- Use acquired knowledge as a basis for originality in the application of ideas, often in a research context.
- Solve problems in new or little-known situations within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
- Integrate knowledge and use it to make judgements in complex situations, with incomplete information, while keeping in mind social and ethical responsibilities.
- Communicate and justify conclusions clearly and unambiguously to both specialised and non-specialised audiences.
- Continue the learning process, to a large extent autonomously.
- Analyze critically the most current theories, models and methods in psychological research.
- Know the main models of intervention in sports initiation and in the psychology of sport.
- Analyze the psychological factors that impact sports initiation, performance and abandonment.
- Analyze data to interpret psychological research results.
- Design and plan a psychological research project applied to psychology of sport.
- Apply psychological intervention with trainers and parents of school-age children in the area of sports performance and physical activity related to health.
- Assess the effectiveness of psychological intervention in sports initiation, sports training and sports performance.
- Work in teams in a coordinated and collaborative way, and show skills in working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Search for information in scientific literature using appropriate channels and integrate such information to propose and contextualize a research topic.
- Use scientific terminology to argue the results of research in the context of scientific production, to understand and interact effectively with other professionals.
- Show skills in interpersonal relations with sports agents (trainers, judges, managers, sportspersons and fans) and the families of school-age sportspersons.
- Optimize performance and prioritize the welfare of sportspersons with an ethical commitment.
