Ideal student profileAccess is open to graduates in arts and humanities, architecture or social science subjects, such as Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Tourism, Anthropology or Education, or equivalent areas. Likewise, it is open to professionals with knowledge and experience of the tourism sector, or of heritage management, with an interest in designing tourism content, creating new tourism and cultural products and in tourism management within cultural-heritage organisations.
For non-native speakers of Spanish, a minimum level of B2 is needed to be able to follow the classes. In addition, the following skills are of value in these studies.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Social and leadership skills.
- English-language skills at B2 level, in order to make good use of basic information sources in work and research.
- Information-search and analysis skills.
- Oral and written skills for research purposes.
- Use acquired knowledge as a basis for originality in the application of ideas, often in a research context.
- Solve problems in new or little-known situations within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
- Integrate knowledge and use it to make judgements in complex situations, with incomplete information, while keeping in mind social and ethical responsibilities.
- Communicate and justify conclusions clearly and unambiguously to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Continue the learning process, to a large extent autonomously.
- Analyse the heritage resources and the characteristics, dimension and impact of tourism activity, both nationally and internationally.
- Analyse the value of the arts, the humanities and the social sciences in terms of their application to tourism.
- Design tailor-made tourist products based on both tangible and intangible cultural heritage resources.
- Promote the use and management of heritage resources as a tourist product.
- Manage the information presented in heritage spaces and adapt it to the different collectives that visit it.
- Create multilingual texts relating the tourism content of the cultural heritage to the arts and humanities.
- Analyse the different cultural projects of public and private institutions in relation to the cultural heritage and tourism.
- Design and develop research projects in the area of cultural heritage management for tourism.
- Work both individually and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Take on responsibilities and decision-making critically and self-sufficiently.
- Develop original contributions within the framework of theoretical research and practical applications.
