Getting started: Course in Basic Training and Canine Education

We teach you to train dogs using the latest techniques, and with animal welfare always kept in mind.

Qualification
Certificate in Basic Training and Canine Education, from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Recognised by the Institute of Public Safety of Catalonia (ISPC) as an in-service training activity addressed to members of the Catalonia police and firefighting forces.

Enrolment
Enrolment is finalised on payment of the fee. The School's Gestió Acadèmica (Academic Management) sends applicants an email to confirm their enrolment on the course.

  • Design and planning of basic canine training programmes.
  • The dog's temperament and behaviour: anomalous behaviour during training, modifying bad habits and behaviour problems.
  • Aggressive behaviour by the dog.
  • Control of environments.
  • Handover and matching training Technics
  • Planning one-to-one classes.
  • Work areas and support materials for basic dog training.
  • Socialisation techniques for pups and adults.
  • Designing protocols for owners.
  • Risk identification and prevention in basic dog training.
  • Animal welfare (enrichment).

2. Assessment and behaviour-modification techniques.
  • The dog's behaviour: character, aptitudes, instincts, needs and satisfactions.
  • Development of the training.

  • The pup's psychological development.

  • The dog's obedience: phases in obedience.
