Universities face global challenges such as climate change, social inequalities, and the digitalization of society. In this context, the university has the opportunity to lead educational innovation through the transversal and effective integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into the various academic programs, within the framework of cooperation and education for global justice.

With this aim, and in response to Royal Decree 822/2021, which establishes that university studies must align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, an analysis has been carried out to identify specific areas where work around the SDGs can be incorporated at the UAB. As a result, a guide has been created to facilitate the incorporation of the SDGs and global justice into undergraduate and master's degree reports.

This guide, written by Xènia Gavaldà on behalf of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària as part of the Pluriversitat project, with the collaboration of the Faculty of Political Science and the support of the Barcelona City Council, arises from the need to apply the SDGs in a structured way across the university's academic disciplines. The guide aims to provide practical and applicable tools for the teaching staff of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona to implement the main points of Royal Decree 822/2021 and to incorporate the framework of global justice and human rights into teaching.

The document is structured into several sections. First, it provides the justification for the guide and the regulatory context. Second, it analyzes the various reference frameworks that link the SDGs with university education, also addressing global justice as a cross-cutting framework, as well as sustainability and the gender perspective, among others. It then specifies how to adapt degree reports in three key dimensions: competencies and learning outcomes, content and methodologies, and assessment. Finally, it proposes a step-by-step itinerary for the full integration of the SDGs into academic sessions. Therefore, this guide offers practical tools to become an instrument for promoting a university committed to sustainability and global justice.

It can also be found in the "UAB working documents" dropdown in the resources section of the SL website at the UAB.
