Sign up for the undergraduate thesis awards that promote social change

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is launching a new edition of the undergraduate thesis awards (TFG) for papers that, through their subject matter, contribute to social transformation. There are three award categories: one for theses with a gender perspective; another for those addressing topics related to sustainable development and global justice; and a third for those carried out using the service-learning methodology.

Once again, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has launched three calls for submissions that reward Bachelor's Theses (TFGs) promoting social change, thus recognizing the research efforts of students who have dedicated their time to generating knowledge for social transformation.

To be eligible, candidates must have submitted their TFG during the 2024–2025 academic year in any of the official degree programs at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and must have obtained a minimum grade of 8.5. Applications can only be submitted in one category.

The submission period runs from June 16 to September 26, 2025.

Bachelor’s Theses with a Gender Perspective – 10th Edition

The Equality and Diversity Office, in collaboration with the Catalan Institute for Women, announces the tenth edition of the Awards for the Best Bachelor’s Theses with a Gender Perspective. These awards aim to promote student awareness of gender equality and non-discrimination through university research. The rules and submission process are available at this link.

Award:A diploma for each author of the awarded theses in each degree program and publication of the works on the website of the Equality and Diversity Office via the UAB Digital Repository. Winners will also receive a gift to encourage further training in gender perspective.

Arcadi Oliveres Award – Bachelor’s Theses on Transformation for Global Justice – 9th Edition

The Fundació Autònoma Solidària announces the ninth edition of the Arcadi Oliveres Awards for the best TFGs focusing on transformation for global justice. These awards seek to recognize research aimed at promoting global justice and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.

Award:A total of €1,000 will be distributed among the top four theses, one in each field. In addition, each winning thesis will receive a diploma, a gift, and will be published in the UAB Digital Repository.

Bachelor’s Theses Using the Service-Learning (ApS) Methodology – 5th Edition

The Service-Learning Office (ApS) announces the fifth edition of the Awards for the best TFGs carried out using the service-learning methodology, aimed at addressing real community needs. You can consult the award guidelines at this link.

Award:A total of €1,000 will be awarded. Each of the best theses in the various fields of knowledge will receive €250. Additionally, the winning theses in each degree will receive an official diploma, a gift, and will be published in the UAB Digital Repository.
