Book presentation: "Home, History, Possession in Israel-Palestine" (London: Routledge, 2025) by Dr. Tovi Fenster (Tel Aviv University)

On Monday, May 12 at 11:30 AM, the book presentation of "Home, History, Possession in Israel-Palestine (London: Routledge, 2025)" by Dr. Tovi Fenster (Tel Aviv University) will take place in the DAG Room of the Department of Geography.

In this book, Dr. Fenster uses a micro-geographical approach to analyze Israeli-Palestinian relations through specific addresses in West Jerusalem and Jaffa, applying the innovative methodology of “address archaeology.” Through this lens, she examines the history and ownership of 11 specific sites, revealing new insights into the 1948 population exchange, when Jewish residents began occupying Palestinian homes following the Nakba. The book also addresses topics such as the micro-politics of contact zones, property violence, creative destruction in urban planning, the right to the city, and the right of return, and proposes practical applications for teaching and urban planning.
