Any member of the university community may apply for this certificate.
The application for an IdCAT certificate can be submitted through the IdCAT website, although it may also be completed directly at a Registration Authority (RA).
It is very important that, when submitting the application, you enter your first name and surname(s) exactly as they appear on your National Identity Card (DNI) or identification document.
After submitting the application, you must visit the Registration Authority (RA) of your choice to verify your identity:
- The Registration Authority of the UAB Registration Assistance Office (Rectorate Building). Booking an appointment in advance is recommended.
- Individuals without an appointment may visit our office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Any of the idCAT Registration Authorities located in many municipalities throughout Catalonia.
- If you have a DNI or a TIE, you can complete the process online via a video call through the following link: https://idcat.aoc.cat/
You may also obtain a certificate issued by the Spanish Royal Mint (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre – FNMT). Full information is available on the FNMT website.
If you have an electronic National Identity Card (DNIe), you can activate the electronic certificate included in it by visiting a National Police station. There, you will find a self-service terminal that allows you to complete the activation process, and no appointment is required.
All of these certificates are valid for electronic identification and the digital signing of documents when dealing with any public administration in Spain.
