Archiving UAB: Memories of a Living University

From the General Archive Unit, we are launching a campaign focused on collecting photographic and audiovisual materials with the aim of building a community photographic archive together with the entire university community.

This archive will be created through contributions from academic staff, students, administrative and service staff, researchers, and other members of the University community. It seeks to document and showcase the activities and events that take place across our faculties, schools, and centres.

We want this archive to become a living record—of the past, present, and future—of university life at our institution.

One of the main objectives of public archives in our country is the preservation, safeguarding, and dissemination of our collective memory. To fulfil this mission, archives actively gather evidence of the moments experienced within our institutions, streets, and public spaces, helping to build our shared memory collectively for future generations.
