The 2nd Research Day of the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology took place on November 7, featuring 15 speakers divided into three presentation blocks. Seven of the presentations were oral communications by students from the PhD program in Clinical and Health Psychology, among which the evaluation committee—composed of Associate Professors Beatriz Olaya and Estíbaliz Royuela, and Emeritus Professor Jordi Obiols—selected the two winners.

The first prize was awarded to Carla Rodríguez, who presented the study titled “Efficacy and safety of low-dose naltrexone in patients with fibromyalgia (INNOVA Project)”. In her presentation, she reported the results of a randomized controlled trial, concluding that the drug studied was not more effective than placebo, and highlighting the possible influence of expectations on treatment effects.

The second prize was awarded to Daniela León, who presented “Self-stigma and personal recovery: sex differences among people with psychotic spectrum disorders”. Her study provides highly relevant conclusions about how self-stigma differentially affects men and women with psychotic spectrum disorders, both in their personal recovery and in their social roles.

The Department’s Research and Communication Committee wishes to thank everyone who participated in the event: Professors Juan Vicente Luciano and Danilo Moggia, who—in addition to moderating the presentation sessions—presented studies of great scientific interest, such as the role of spirituality in chronic pain and the evaluation of processes to personalize psychotherapy; the members of the evaluation committee; the PhD students who participated, either presenting oral communications or short presentations; and the attendees, who actively engaged with the speakers throughout the event.
