The Annual Congress of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT), held in Glasgow from September 3 to 6, 2025, brought together hundreds of professionals from around the world to share the latest advances in clinical psychology and cognitive-behavioural therapies.

Within this international setting, Dr. Pérez Aranda delivered the talk “Predicting treatment response to new forms of CBT in chronic low back pain and depression”, where he presented the results of a study from the IMPACT project, funded by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII; PI22/00829; PI19/00112) and co-financed with European Union ERDF funds. The research focused on how specific stress biomarkers, immune-inflammatory parameters and genetic variants may influence response to psychological therapy.

Through his participation in EABCT 2025, Dr. Pérez Aranda helps strengthen UAB’s presence in leading international forums and promotes the transfer of scientific knowledge in the field of clinical and health psychology.
