Pest control

An important aspect of biosafety is the control of movements of animals, and especially rodents and flying arthropods, that act as reservoirs or transmitters of biological agents that may cause unintended disease or release into the environment. For this reason, a pest control programme must be available, especially for those areas where activities requiring a BSL2 or higher are carried out, as set out in Annex II of Royal Decree 178/2004.
