We regret the loss of Joan Prat i Carós, and Clara Carme Perramon Homs

The Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology expresses its condolences and regrets the recent loss of Joan Prat i Carós, professor emeritus of Anthropology at the Rovira i Virgili University, and Clara Carme Perramon Homs, who was director of the Municipal Archive of l'Hospitalet.

Joan Prat i Carós (1947-2026) he is a key figure in Catalan anthropology through his teaching, publications and the impetus of institutions such as the Institut Català d'Antropologia.

Clara Perramon Homs (1948-2026), historian and anthropologist, she dedicated a good part of her career to studying the social history and changes in the population of L’Hospitalet. Her research focused on migrations and social movements in Catalan society during the last decades. She was an associate professor in our Department, and a member of the GRAFO and GETP groups, and directed the Municipal Archives of L’Hospitalet.
