Buenaventura Guamis receives the Scientific Merit Award at the 2026 Foodtech Awards
On 6 October, the FoodTech Awards 2026 were held as part of the Alimentaria FoodTech 2026 event. The trade fair, which took place from 6 to 8 October at the Fira de Barcelona trade fair centre, brought together the leading players in the food industry to showcase the latest innovations and trends in the fields of food production, processing and preservation.
At this latest edition, Professor Emeritus Buenaventura Guamis received the Scientific Merit Award in recognition of his outstanding professional career and his contributions in the field of food preservation and processing technologies.
Particular praise was given to his contribution to research and innovation, both within the academic sphere and through the transfer of knowledge to the business sector, including his involvement in the creation of the companies AB-Biotics and Ypsicon.
