Students must provide a B2 certificate in the language of instruction of the subjects (English or Spanish): see the accepted certificates.
Students taking courses in both languages must submit both certificates.
No Catalan certificate is required; however, a good knowledge of Spanish is highly recommended.

Catalan is our main teaching language, so the number of subjects offered in Spanish and English is limited
Students may register for a maximum of 5 courses (30 ECTS) per semester at our faculty, which may be:Maximum 2 subjects in English (12 ECTS)Maximum 1 subject in Spanish (6 ECTS)Remaining subjects in Catalan
Subjects are not guaranteed in advance, they will be confirmed once students complete the application process, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
A minimum of 50% of the total credits must be taken at the host faculty at UAB. The remaining credits may be taken at other UAB faculties, subject to availability and any additional requirements. Please note that the number of subjects taught in English is also limited.
Students may also enrol in language courses at the UAB School of Languages, which may be recognised for credit transfer.

The application period for other faculties subjects usually opens during the begining of each semester.
The list of available subjects will be published on the application platform according to the established calendar and will not be available beforehand. Until then, students may consult the course offer through the links above.
During the first days of the semester, students may attend different classes on a trial basis. However, they may only continue attending those classes if they secure a place through the application platform during the application period.
Further instructions on how to apply for these subjects will be sent a few days after the beginning of the semester.
UAB works under the Continuous Assessment system, which requires compulsory attendance and the completion of various assessment activities throughout the semester. Students must be physically present on campus both for classes and for all exams (midterms, finals, and resits). Students can check the study guides for complete information.Incoming students can not ask for the single evaluation in our faculty. Also, exam rescheduling is not possible, neither taking distance exams.
Only exams for subjects taught in English may be answered in English.
For subjects taught in Catalan, students may answer exams in either Catalan or Spanish. If they require the exam questions to be provided in Spanish, they must request this from the lecturer well in advance.
5. Catalan and Spanish language subjects
The UAB Languages Campus offers Catalan and Spanish subsidized courses for exchange students. Also, free introductory Catalan courses are included.

Credit recognition for language courses:
These courses can be included in the Learning Agreement, but not in the faculty enrolment. The decision on whether courses or certificates from this Language Service can be recognised for credit transfer purposes rests with the student home university.

Master programs
- It is only possible to enrol in master’s courses if your home university has a master’s-level agreement with ou faculty.
- The course selection must match the program linked to the agreement and the related field of study.
- Spots are very limited in all programs and cannot be guaranteed in advance.
- Incoming exchange students can enrol in a maximum of 30 ECTS.
- It is not possible to mix undergraduate and master’s-level subjects.
- Moreover, the coordinator of the master’s program must give final approval for your enrolment.
