URAP ranking places the UAB in position 126th worldwide

The UAB is the second university in Spain, 50th in Europe and 126th worldwide according to the URAP ranking, published yearly by the Middle East Technical University in Turkey. The ranking classifies 2,000 universities worldwide according to the quality and quantity of their scholarly publications.

With a score of A+ (the maximum score is A++) and 369.84 points (out of a maximum of 600) the UAB ranks 126th worldwide in the latest edition of the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP 2016-2017), conducted by the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.

The UAB is awarded 80.98 points in the scientific productivity indicator (number of indexed articles published in one year); 76.79 in research impact, based on the number of citations in a period of two years of the articles published in that same period; 36.54 in the total document indicator, the measure of sustainability and continuity of scientific productivity based on the total document count; 67.87 points in article impact total, the institution's scientific productivity with the field normalized impact generated by those publications in each field; 50.52 points in citation impact total, the normalised impact generated by the publications in each field; and 57.14 points in international collaboration, based on the total number of publications made in collaboration with foreign universities. All indicators are measured on a 100 point scale.

At worldwide scale, the ranking is led by Harvard University , USA; the University of Toronto, Canada; and Oxford University, UK. In Spain, the top position goes to University of Barcelona, in 45th position and with a total of 426.50 points; followed by the UAB, the University of Valencia (in position 213 and with 347.18 points); and the Complutense University of Madrid, in position 216 and 346.94 points. In Europe, the top universities are Oxford University, University College London and Cambridge University.
