Ferran Sancho, Rector of the UAB, and José Manuel Lorenzo, President of the Non Stop People TV station, signed an agreement to work together on teaching and research activities. The signing of the agreement took place at the UAB Rectorat building and included the presence of María José Recorder, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Studies; Antoni Vidal, Vice Dean of the UAB Campus Mèdia; and Antonio San José, General Director of Non Stop People.

The agreement includes the exchange of contents and students, offering thus the possibility for UAB students to sign up for work placements at Non Stop People. The UAB Faculty of Communication Studies will act as the television station's "correspondent's office" in Barcelona, according to San José. There will also be an exchange of information on audiovisual production research into new transmedia platforms.

Moreover, students will be able participate in the preparation and airing of the programme "El Debate", which will be occasionally recorded at the faculty and aired on the TV channel. The main objective of this action is to offer students the possibility of working on a real television programme.

Rector Sancho explained how the UAB functions and spoke of the academic activities and its campus to the representatives of the TV station. Lorenzo and San José spoke on the emphasis Non Stop People puts on cultural events - theatre, literature, music, etc. - and stated that they conceive the items agreed upon as a "prolongation of university training" in which priority is given to a complete training of all professional aspects included in broadcast journalism.

"Infotainment"

Non Stop People, aired on channel 23 of Movistar +, defines itself as an "infotainment television channel", combining information and entertainment. The channel is addressed to young viewers and is also made up of a team of young journalists. It includes three daily information programmes (News), a wake-up programme (Good Morning People), a talk show (El Hub), a night show (Xtra!), a debates programme (El Debate), and a programme with the best scenes aired by the channel (Unplugged). Non Stop People is, in addition, a station which adapts to the new generations by not only airing on television, but on all other screens as well: it is present in all social networks and can be viewed from any mobile device (tablets and smartphones) through Yomvi with videos on demand.
