The Tàndem goes on holiday

The Tandem says goodbye to 2015 on Wednesday 16 December at 3 p.m. in the Events Room in l’Àgora (Building R). If you want to get to know people from other countries and want to practice languages, you can come by yourself or with your language partner.

Last year there were 1,220 foreign students in the UAB studying on international mobility programmes. This year the number will be similar. The university environment of our campus is ideal for meeting and sharing experiences with people from all around the world, so why not use this opportunity to learn languages? It does not matter if you are a foreign student or not, you can find very interesting activities organized by Tandem.

The Tandem programme (joint project by the Language Service of UAB and Community Involvement) offers the opportunity to practise different languages and get to know other cultures. The Tandem programme also allows you to participate in other activities for practising languages, such as foreign-language film sessions, conversation groups and book clubs. You can participate in all activities individually or with your language partner. Perhaps you are wondering how you can find a language partner. Just fill in this form and sign in with your identification number (NIU) as a UAB student and you will have access to all the contents of the website. These activities take place on Wednesdays.

This Wednesday the Tandem programme will bid farewell to 2015 and will offer you the opportunity to join the “The Tandem programme goes on holiday” event, which will take place on Wednesday 16 December, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Events Room at l’Àgora Building (R Building). Besides getting some language practice, you will have the chance to meet students from different countries. Among the activities planned for this event is the Speed Tandem (speed dates to talk to as many people as possible) and Speaking Time. Furthermore, all language pairs attending the event will receive a Tandem T-shirt.
