After participating in the ICREA Workshop on Graphene Nanobiosensors, organised by the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) on 25 and 26 May at the UAB Casa Convalescència in Barcelona, the 2010 Nobel Prize winner in Physics will offer a conference on 27 May at 12 noon at the conference hall of the faculties of Science and Biosciences.

The conference, entitled Materials in the Flatland, is part of the Manuel Cardona conference series in the field of nanoscience which is organised by the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2).

Dr Novoselov, professor at the School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Manchester, UK, will speak on the properties present in two-dimensional structures of graphene and other atomic crystals; as well as the structures obtained thanks to the combination of different two-dimensional layers, which pave the way for the study of new physical phenomena.
