New call for grants for UAB official master's degree students

Students enrolling in an official master's degrees offered by the UAB in the 2014/15 academic year are eligible to apply for one of the twelve grants available. These grants are reserved for students with excellent academic records. Applications should be addressed to the coordinator of the master's degree before 5 July.

The UAB and the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera have teamed up to offer 5,000 Euro grants to students with excellent academic records interested in enrolling in an official master's degree in the 2014/15 academic year. The grants are the result of an agreement signed by both institutions to foster both the quality of master's degree programmes and the students who aspire to enrol in them. The total amount of money put aside for theses grants is 65,000 Euros and one grant will be conferred to each of the following programmes. There are a total of twelve:

  • Applied Research in Economics and Business
  • Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
  • Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability
  • Political Science
  • Computer Vision
  • Economic Analysis 
  • Advanced Genetics
  • Spanish Language, Hispanic Literature and Spanish as a Foreign Language
  • Economics and Business Administration
  • Industrial Chemistry and Introduction to Chemical Research
  • Modelling for Science and Engineering
  • Bioinformatics

In the case of the master's degree in Economic Analysis, the grant consists of 10,000 Euros given that this is a 120 ECTS credits programme (lasting two academic years). The grantholder will receive half of the grant in their second year once it is proven that they have satisfactorily completed all credits from their first year.
