FAS manages Campus Ítaca now

Campus Itaca ara gestionat per la FAS
This 2014-2015 academic year will be the first that the FAS manages the socio-educational Campus Ítaca programme. Until now this UAB initiative was managed by the Institute of Education (ICE). Additionally, this initiative is sponsored by the Santander Group and it is a very important action for the university’s social responsibility.

The Campus Ítaca programme is addressed to high school students and it is a stay at the UAB in which students participating carry out different activities with the objective of encouraging them to continue their education once they finish secondary school. At the same time, it aims to be a space for coexistence for young people from different social environments and promote the use of Catalan as common language.

During this academic year the programme will continue with the same action line followed so far. It will be carried out from 22 June to 16 July and 324 fifteen-year-old boys and girls from 54 high schools of 28 different towns will participate. There will be the support of the city councils of the different towns and also the support of the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Occidental.

In this new period, Campus Ítaca joins the socio-educational work line that the FAS already manages, such as the CROMA programme or the Unix programme, among others. These three programmes together will make possible that the FAS, from the UAB, will be able to attend more than 900 boys and girls from Vallès and other regions in the social area.
