Egyptian embassy in Spain to collaborate with the UAB in teaching

The UAB aims to reinforce its Arabic Studies in both the degree of Translation and Interpreting and the new master's degree in Contemporary Arabic Studies. For this reason the UAB recently signed an agreement with the Egyptian embassy in an event which included the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education.

UAB rector pro tempore Ferran Sancho and cultural councillor of the Egyptian embassy in Spain Basem Saleh, signed a collaboration agreement on 25 May. The signing, which took place at the Rectorat building, included the presence of Ashraf Shihi, Minister for Higher Education.

This framework agreement will allow to specify the academic collaborations carried out jointly by the institutions, with the aim of offering language classes in the Egyptian dialect both as part of the bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting and in the new master's degree in Contemporary Arabic Studies, starting in September 2016.

The event also included the presence of Lluís Quintana, UAB Vice Rector pro tempore for International Relations; Albert Branchadell, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting; Anna Gil, coordinator of the bachelor's degree; and Marta Vilalta, Director of the International Relations Office. The Egyptian delegation also included the Hossam el Malah, Director of the Grantholders Section of the Ministry for Higher Education.
