HARKET [PROTOCOLO] is more than just an interdisciplinary play in which dance, theatre, humour, music, design and video mapping interact in this performance. It is also a transmedia project in which, through blogs and social networks, spectators can elaborate on their experiences before or after watching the performance.

The main roles are Cristina Harket, daughter of the missing Professor Pol Harket i Mateu, head of the HARKET [PROTOCOLO] project of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Selected from 35 volunteers to participate in a survival experiment inside a bunker, she began her experience on midnight of 6 January 2010, and the simulation model protocol was put into practice. She was supposed to stay in the bunker one month, but an error in the artificial intelligence system MAP#2 which controlled the bunker blocked the door at the time at which it was supposed to open.

The other star of the play is MAP#2, an artificial intelligence system developed in Barcelona by a research team at UPC, coordinated by Professor Pol Harket i Mateu. Its mission is to guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of the bunker. The main access interface works thanks to a voice recognition software installed. The software includes advanced cognitive comprehension and emotional learning systems, making it easier to integrate MAP#2 into the daily life of humans.

The text and direction of the play belongs to Juan Pablo Mendiola, and the interpretation and choreography is by Cristina Fernández (Cristina Harket) and Juan Pablo Mendiola (whose voice is that of Map#2).

The aim of this cycle, the Cicle Artefacte, is to programme professional performances for university members, and promote the format's originality as a main criteria to follow in the performing arts.

Duration of the play: 70 minutes
