Come and celebrate the International Dance Day at the UAB Theatre!

Like every other year, at the UAB we celebrate the International Dance Day by hosting many dance activities and performances by UAB groups and dancers, and also a professional dance duo.
This year, there will be a music performance by the UAB’s initiation and the intermediate group of Contemporary Dance, under the guidance of Laia Santanach, a solo by Marc Codony and the performance ‘AURA’ by the Yugen Professional Dance Company.
The members of the UAB’s initiation group of Contemporary Dance will be performing a 5-minute choreography of the dance moves rehearsed during the course. The choreography will revolve around the ability of the members of the group to listen to each other.
The members of the UAB’s intermediate group of Contemporary Dance will be performing an 8-minute choreography title ‘Arbol’. The performance seeks to show the progress of the group and how important it is for its members to count on each other in order to achieve higher goals together.
The winner of the Autonoma Actua contest, Marc Codony, will be performing the song ‘Fallin’’ in a blend of urban and contemporary dance. The performance is built on motivation and that inner strength that pushes us to fight for what we want. It is also a little tribute to values, positivity, and the ability of finding light in the darkness. Feeling, living, and loving: all can be expressed through dancing.
Finally, the Yugen Professional Dance Company will be performing ‘AURA’, a show that was born from the artistic partnership between Aina Lanas and Julien Rossin. ‘AURA’ has been inspired by the Japanese culture: spirituality, aesthetics, discipline, and the idea of public and private spaces. The contrast between hyper technologic societies and humanity makes us reflect on the idea of ‘halo’ (aura): a blend of our physical, philosophical and emotional being.
