Body and Textuality organises its 3rd international conference

A meeting between specialists of different subjects will debate the question of authorship of artistic texts and works, as well as its relationship with concepts of body and corpus. The 3rd International Conference on Texts of the Body will take place from 2 to 5 December at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and at the French Institute.

From 2 to 5 December, the research group Body and Textuality of the UAB Department of Spanish Studies will be holding the 3rd International Conference on Texts of the Body, under the name of "The Authorial Kaleidoscope: Textualisations of the Body-Corpus". The event will take place at the UAB Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and at the French Institute in Barcelona.

The conference aims to discuss the most recent trends in literary theory which postulates rethinking the validity of an author as a hermeneutic key. In addition, there will be debates on the relation between body, corpus and authorship. Issues such as corporal metaphors in authorship, media supports and authorship (cinema, photography, exhibits, etc.), legitimising mechanisms in authorial authority, etc. There will be six semi-plenary sessions and 33 presentation tables in which researchers from several American and European academic institutions will be participating.
