25/01/2017

The UAB has published the call for applications for grants to student involvement in the university community. The student societies legally registered at elDirectori and the student councils may benefit from these grants.

This year, there has been an increase in the budget in relation to previous years, reaching the figure of €12,500. However, there will be a limit to the amount allocated to the student societies and to the number of applications allowed. Each student society may apply for grants to 3 activities, but the grant for every activity won’t exceed 70% of its cost or the amount of €600. In total, the grants allocated to every student society won’t exceed €1,500. The award of the aid will be based on three criteria: the stimulation of campus life, the promotion of equal opportunities and networking. These aspects should be specified in the applications.

There has also been a modification in the requirements of the call, allowing the applicants to describe and defend the activity they apply for in a more specific and precise way. Moreover, this year there is also the chance for the grants to be intended to outsourcing or buying new materials needed to carry out the activities. The Assessment Committee will  be made up of the Vice-rector for Students and Employability, 3 students chosen at the next meeting of elDirectori and 2 members of the Community Involvement Unit.
