The Campus Ítaca will take place from 27 June to 14 July June, an activity which brings the university closer to secondary school students. This year, 388 students about to start their last year of compulsory education from 77 different centres are participating in the programme.

The Campus Ítaca is a social-educational programme aimed at 15-year-old girls and boys about to start their last year of compulsory education, in which they will have to decide whether to enter the labour market, take a vocational training course or continue on to upper secondary education. The objective of the Campus Ítaca is to encourage participating students to continue their studies and expand their future professional opportunities. Moreover, the programme converts the UAB into a space for coexistence between students from different social backgrounds.

The programme is promoted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and since 2015, it is organised by the Fundació Autònoma Solidaria. The Faculty of Education, the Santander Group and the town councils participating in the programme collaborate jointly to give support to the initiative.

This year there will be two different sessions. The first runs from 27 June to 5 July; the second will take place from 6 to 14 July. The training activities will take place under the tutorship of university lecturing and research staff from different faculties and affiliated centres. The campus includes workshops, debates, complex problems and projects. All activities, based on experiential learning, take into account the participants' prior knowledge and aim to favour cooperative working.
