The UAB to participate in Universia's 4th International Meeting of Rectors

Over 600 rectors and academic representatives from around Spain and Latin America will be participating in Universia's Fourth International Meeting of Rectors under the title of "University, Society and Future". The meeting will take place at the University of Salamanca on 21 and 22 May and will include the participation of UAB Rector Margarita Arboix.

Margarita Arboix, Rector of the UAB, will participate in Universia's Fourth International Meeting of Rectors to be held in Salamanca on 21 and 22 May. The meeting will focuse on three discussion axes: "Training and learning in a digital world", "Research at university, a paradigm in review? " and "Univesity's contribution to social and regional development".

The meeting will coincide with the commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the University of Salamanca and will reunite more than 600 rectors and academic representatives from 26 different countries. Presiding the meetings will be Ana Botín, President of Universia and Banco Santander.

At the end of the meeting, the "Carta de Salamanca" will be published. This chart will detail all main conclusions and proposals for the construction of the university of the future and its mission as a driving force for social progress and development. This year's meeting is a continuation of previous events held by Universia in Seville (2005), Guadalajara, Mexico (2010), and Rio de Janeiro (2014). The Universia platform includes over 1,300 academic institutions from all over Ibero-America.
