This service is part of the comprehensive bike centre (offering rentals, sales and repair services, courses, information, assessment, etc.) which aims to encourage university members to use this vehicle when travelling to and from university, as well as a means of transport around campus.

The BiciUAB Service a comprehensive bike centre which aims to boost the use of this vehicle when travelling to and from the university, as well as around campus.

The UAB campus - formed by over 40,000 people - generates some 220,000 trips daily. FGC, the public transport used most frequently on campus, has made available a space at the train station for the bike centre and the AMB provides the funds needed to rent the bicycles to students and workers.

The initiative also aims to promote the option of combining train and bicycle and thus increase the use of public transport among members of the UAB community.

The bike centre is located on the inside of the FGC station and offers the following services:
1.- Shop with new and used bicycles and bike accessories.
2.- Repair and maintenance services.
3.- Free yearly revisions for all members of the university community.
4.- Customer self-repair services.
5.- Long-term bike rentals (minimum one month). Rental rates are: - Electrical bicycles: 30 Euros/month / Standard bicycles: 15 Euros/month. These rates are subsidised rates and users only pay less than 25% of the total cost.
