Journalism in the face of global power

As part of the online series on dialogues between Brazil and Spain, entitled “Diàlegs Brasil-Espanya entorn la comunicació: Interculturalitat, canvi climàtic i pràctica periodística”, the dialogue on journalism under global powers “La pràctica periodística davant el poder global” will be held on 25 April and will include the participation of Gibsy Caporal (Universidade Federal de Santa Maria) and Rosalba Guadalupe Mancinas Chavez (University of Seville). The meeting will serve to talk about communication under global powers and the role of journalism, with special emphasis on the effects of artificial intelligences on the job of professionals.

The series is an initiative conducted under the framework of the Capes/Print Programme (Universidade Federal de Santa Maria-Brasil) and launched by the UNESCO Chair in Communication of the UAB Institute of Communication. The objective is to foster cooperation and scientific dissemination through an exchange of experiences. These conference series are structured into thematic blocks. Each session will include research teams from both countries who will talk about their experiences.
