International Day of Light
Description:
At 12 noon, the Building C's auditorium (Sala d’actes) will play host to a poetry recital on the topic of light by Department of Physics lecturer David Jou.
Following the recital, lecturer and researcher of the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) Jens Biegert will speak on the control of electrons through light with the aim of obtaining “snapshots” of the dynamics of chemical reactions in a conference entitled “Teaching Electrons to Take a Selfie”.

International Conference UMAQ “Understanding Quality in Media Accessibility"
Description:
The conference will gather together, for the first time, all the key actors involved in research on quality in media accessibility from academia, industry, and policy. The conference will host more than 40 speakers from four continents and discuss a wide range of topics, such as: audio description, live subtitles, sign language on TV, machine translation, data and information quality approaches, object oriented broadcasting, use of electrophysiological measures for testing quality, and subtitles in augmented reality environments.
The conference is organised by the H2020 MSCA IF project “Understanding Quality in Media Accessibility) carried out by Gian Maria Greco and Pilar Orero at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
